    • The Embassy of Ukraine in Australia was established on 8 March 2003 through transformation of the Consulate-General of Ukraine in Sydney into diplomatic mission of Ukraine in Canberra. On 14 April 2003 a diplomatic note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine regarding launching of diplomatic mission in Canberra was delivered to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia.
    In Melbourne (Victoria) there is the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine headed by the Australian citizen of Ukrainian origin, Mr. Larry Botte.

    Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine - Dr. Olexandr P. Mischenko. Born on 24 August 1964 in the family of a serviceman. Ukrainian. Education: higher, candidate of juridical science. In 1993-1996 occupied different diplomatic posts in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. November 1996-February 2000 - Consul General of Ukraine in Istanbul (Turkey). February 2000 - deputy of the Head of MFA Consular Division. October 2001 - Deputy Director-General of MFA Consular Department, Head of the consular-legal division. October 2001 – councellor-minister of the Embassy of Ukraine to Poland (January-April 2002 Charge d’Affairs a.i. of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland). In December 2002 appointed as Ambassador at large of the MFA of Ukraine. Since April 2003 - Charge D'Affaires of Ukraine in Australia. On 2 August 2004 in accordance with the Presidents decree appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine in Australia. Married. Spouse: Mrs Myroslava Mischenko (born in 1973).
